NANO! a MAJOR stress to urban life.

Nano has bought smile to many faces in India. Largely it has made a significant impact on a lower middle class stratum for whom buying four wheeler car was a far of dream.

Along with the smile on the faces it will also bring a frown expression on the faces when people will actually get their Nano on the road, aggravating traffic problems for commuters.

Nano car was a challenge for Tata but, the car could have been a real successful challenge if the 1 lakh car challenge would have been accompanied by the challenge to get the commuting system, traffic system and traveling rules in place by making them more organized. It’s like, the way the half done work is dangerous and non-useful similarly, Nano will add stress to the city with its half cooked plan on the road.

Before granting permission for the launch of Nano the authorities should have done proper survey to find out major cities suffering traffic problems and prohibiting the sale of Nano in those cities.

Nano on the road in urban would have been a great idea if we have had an organized commuting system, better roads, better commuting rules. The govt. should encourage car pooling to reduce traffic and occupancy of road. It feels so irritable to see one person traveling in a car and occupying such big place on the road which can be well organized with the help proper imposition of traffic and commuting rules.

Nano is a suitable car to run in rural where you have if not good at least empty roads to travel. Nano on the road will only aggravate traffic problems leading to stress and frustration and many more other health problems followed by it.

The article wouldn’t be complete if I do not mention the pollution problems that Nano will add on its entry in metros.

The company should have scrutinized the area for launch rather than just dumping the car in the open market to be sold. The Nano car is not a facility in urban it’s a sophisticated form of stress bought to the mankind.

Come on guys lets welcome the stress with a warm hearts and lets enjoy the STRESS!

Cheers!!

Hi Shree...I liked your Blog...would surely like to have my views on it.
Why everyone today is saying Nano will have traffic jams..it will bring more stress level...it will cause pollution..i am really clueless...Why aint anyone questioning Bajaj for their Auto- Rikshaw which pollutes environment more than NANO..Which creates a mess on roads.
If the companies rely on Government to improve on traffic rules what can the government do when the common man is eager to rush..Government is equally to be blamed since the road work is not upto the mark..
A person always dream of owning a vehicle..sometimes due to stress and feed-up of commuting a person purchases a vehicle.Car Pooling if practiced can reduce traffic but how many people will support it.If government encourages car pooling , tomorrow a girl can she ask for lift can she be a part of car-pooling...if something goes wrong what will happen to that girls self esteem..she will die of shame..Nano will allow to travel at their own will..not to depend on someone else.
It will help to get rid of 1985 taxis which are smoke bums..Atleast cities like mumbai wont feel ashamed of running the metals bums on road...
A common man dream to own a car, if he is not able to buy any other brand which worth more than what NANO is offering..its a dream and will be in dream till he die...
You get only one life...live it king size and make sure you are not hurting anyone feelings for your own happiness..
The car can be run in rural areas.the commutation will be far more easy...when a woman is pregnant and if she gets pains the people in rural areas dont have to rush for searching vehicles..if they own a Rs 1 lakh car..that woman wont have to suffer so much..
You are not wel-coming stress but owning a car which will help you reduce stress..
Following are some facts which i like to share
"Environment-friendly
- The Nano's tailpipe emission performance exceeds regulatory requirements. In terms of overall pollutants, it has a lower pollution level than two-wheelers being manufactured in India today.
- The high fuel efficiency also ensures that the car has low carbon dioxide emissions, thereby providing the twin benefits of an affordable transportation solution with a low carbon footprint."

Lets welcome NANO.

Dear Parag,
m glad that u commented on the blog.
u have rightly pointed out that the bajaj Auto- Rikshaw and 985 taxis are responsible for creating pollution in mumbai. it means anything to add the pollution will only aggravate the pollution problem and other related problems following the same. hence my point in the blog is justifiable when i say i expect from a good company like Tata to carry out a proper survey before launching such a major project.
the second point of discussion is regarding the car pooling. I have indicated encouragement of carpooling and not enforcement. hence there could be exceptions and no woman would be enforced to share the car without her wish.
the third point regarding helplessnessof govt. whereas i believe Govt. can have control over the flow of crowd in a city. rush can be organized to cater to the demand of the city. we have examples of the cities in Europe where an alone person in the car is assigned a particular road to use and the one sharing his car is allowed to use the shorter route lane. so it helps to get the things organized.
I agree when u say that every person has a dream to own a car. U would agree wen i say that this thirst is being created by the industry and has to be quenched in an organized way without creating major hassles for anyone is also a major responsibility of the industry along with the production of the product.
All i want to say is let the people have their dream car to be seen running on the road and not all the time stuck in the traffic or seen in the parking lot of his apartment.

Hi Shree,

I agree about ur point that government should take responsibility to rectify the system and the problems but to what extent?. People are not immature that they will not understand the consequences of the same. I have seen people from the same locality and same office driving own vehicle to the office. why so? cant they share it turn by turn? Somewher people also has to think about the nation & the problems which will get created out of this.

The government has realized problems now and has started project like road widening and skywalk which could have been started long back. We can say something is better than nothing.

I just want to say that only blaming each other will not work, both has to shake the hands to overcome the problems to some extent.
